We didn’t stumble into self-storage. We grew up in it.
We Get Self-Storage was built by operators, not consultants. Wendy and Patrick have spent the last 10 years running a real self-storage and RV storage facility — through five expansions, multiple software changes, and every growing pain in between. It started alongside Wendy’s father, Jerry, who owned the facility while Wendy and Patrick ran the day-to-day. Every big decision was made the right way — sitting down for hours, planning together, and always keeping customer feedback at the center. That’s not just how they grew the business. That’s why it worked, and still does today.
Wendy is the heart of operations — the one who knows what it actually feels like to handle a difficult tenant, navigate a software change, and keep the day-to-day running smoothly, either in person or fully remote.
Patrick works behind the scenes; he’s the business generalist who keeps everything that customers don’t see running smoothly. Together, Pat and Wendy cover both sides of the business, and what makes a storage facility successful: a great experience on the inside and a strong brand presence on the outside. In 2025, they took full ownership of the facility and launched We Get Self-Storage to share what they have learned. No fluff, no upsells- just honest, practical guidance from people who have been exactly where you are.
Wendy and Patrick started We Get Self-Storage with one goal: to make sure small facility owners and newcomers to the industry don’t have to figure it all out alone.
From day-to-day operations to the details most people don’t think about until they have signed on the dotted line, we want every operator to feel confident, capable, and set up to succeed. No one should have to learn the hard way what they could have learned from someone who’s already been there.
